How it works

Scenarios, feedback, skills, next steps

Five steps, none of which need an account until you want to keep what you have done.

  1. 1

    Choose how to start

An activity is a short run of scenarios from one line of work, such as graphic design or nursing. The taster serves one scenario at a time from across the catalogue; after each you choose more on that topic, more from that line of work, or something different. You can start either without an account.

  2. 2

    Answer, then see why

Each scenario describes a situation and asks what you would do. Some have one best answer, some have two or more, and some options are partly right. Whatever you choose, you see the explanation for every option. If you missed a best answer you can try again or move on; your first answer is the one that counts towards your profile.

  3. 3

    Say how it felt

After each scenario you rate how much you enjoyed it. Doing well and enjoying something are different things, and your profile keeps them apart.

  4. 4

    Build a skill profile

Every scenario is linked to one of the 13 core skills of the UK Standard Skills Classification, the vocabulary behind Skills England's Employability Skills Framework. Your profile shows your first-answer scores and enjoyment by skill, and can show the same skills in the words other frameworks use.

  5. 5

    Keep it and go further
